Kamehameha Schools Preschools

Big dreams start small

Our preschool program across the pae ‘āina helps our youngest haumāna gain the confidence to dream of how they’ll create a brighter tomorrow. Our preschools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which recognizes early childhood programs that meet national standards of quality requirements. Through Hawaiian culture-based education we offer learning experiences in an environment that is safe, enriching and enjoyable. By connecting our keiki to their culture and language, we lay a foundation for future success.

Stewarding ‘āina Pauahi: Growing Pauahi’s land legacy forward

Ke Ali‘i Bernice Pauahi Bishop stewarded a vast ‘āina portfolio grounded in her chiefly lineage. She had the incredible foresight to ensure those lands would benefit Native Hawaiian keiki and the lāhui for generations to come. One hundred percent of the financial resources needed to fulfill Ke Ali‘i Pauahi’s wishes come from the success and growth of the endowment. ‘Āina is not simply part of that story, it is foundational to it.

🌺 Meet Kumu Dayna Begonia of KS Preschools Nānākuli. "I was inspired to become a kumu at Kamehameha Preschools because I believe deeply in the power of education rooted in ʻike Hawaiʻi and aloha ʻāina. Kamehameha is a place where our haumāna can learn who they are, where they come from, and how their gifts can serve the lāhui. Working in my home community of Nānākuli, I see every day how special this place is to our people. I love that I can serve where I live, strengthening my ʻike and my love for this ʻāina alongside our keiki and ʻohana." #KumuAppreciation #Imuakamehameha #eola #hcbe #nanakuli

The haumāna of Kamehameha Preschools Hoaliku Drake stepped into the loʻi at Ka Papa LoʻI o Kānewai to connect with the ʻāina, care for Hāloa and learn alongside the kalo that have nourished our people for generations. Through puʻepuʻe they experienced the joy of getting dirty while building deeper pilina with ʻāina and each other. These are the moments where ʻike kūpuna comes to life — where keiki learn that the loʻi is not just a place to grow food, but a place to grow kuleana, connection, and aloha for the ʻāina. 🌿 #EOla #KamehamehaPreschools #Loʻi #Kalo #ʻĀina
