CDC and Hawai‘i DOH has recently updated their COVID-19 guidelines, where COVID now falls under their Respiratory Illness category. The COVID isolation period is no longer set to a minimum of 5 days and is now based on symptom severity and improvement.
If you or your child have developed respiratory symptoms, you should seek care from your primary care provider and stay home until fever free for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medications) and other symptoms are mild and improving.
